IAHSA/CHINA kicks off in Shanghai..global leaders meet

Saturday 16 November was the start of the IAHSA conference in Shanghai, China. The IAHSA board met and the Chair of IAHSA for 2014 is coming to South Africa – Margie Chapman, SACF Chairperson, has been appointed to take over from Rob Hilton of the USA – a great honour. She will be the first woman Chair in IAHSA’s 22 year history.  A first ever meeting was facilitated of IAHSA together with three other leaders in the global arena, Alzheimers Disease Internationl, Help Age International and Grantmakers in Making. Issues of common concern were discussed and areas sought to collaborate on. High energy, high commitment, high levels of sharing – real generosity of spirit evident. More to follow as the conference unfolds over the next few days.
