The CHOGM(Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) is to be held in London in mid April.
Parallel to this CommonAge has organised an Elders Forum bringing together organisations serving older people around the Commonwealth. The South African Care Forum will be represented there and I have been asked to chair the opening day of this amazing inaugural event on 16th April. This is a very exciting inaugural event as it puts ageing firmly on the Commonwealth Secretariat’s agenda.
The South African Care Forum is also participating in the adjudication of the life stories that have been submitted from around the globe from commonwealth countries for the CommonAge Life Story project. Stories have been collected from across the globe as shared by nonagenarians to young people who have written them up, and will be collated into a book to be presented to the Queen in celebration of her 92nd birthday on the 21st April. Thank you to the volunteers who are helping with the adjudication process.
